Kennedy was awarded the Grow You Own--Legislative Grant--Pathway 2 grant for January 2020-August 2020.<br>The purpose of the grant is to <b><u>identify and support students of color who are wanting to explore education as a career.</u></b> First and foremost is recruiting students for the paid summer internship; this entails 25 hours of mentoring and interning with a stipend. <b><u>At $15.00 per hour for 25 hours, each student will earn $325.00.</u></b><br><br>Requirements:<br><ul><li>Enrolled currently in Introduction to Education, EDUC 1101</li><li>Enrolling in 2020-21 as a Junior or Senior</li><li>Passed (with an A or B)</li><li>will be a Junior or senior in 2020-21</li></ul> <br><b>More about the grant:</b><br><ol><li>This is an Elementary Education career pathway</li><li>This pathway is called Cultivating Diverse Educators</li><li>BPS is in partnership with Normandale Community College and Minnesota State University-Mankato</li><li>Ten credits can be earned while still in high school, toward a two-year Associate&#39;s degree through NCC, which will articulate to a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at MSU-Mankato or any other Minnesota State Universities&#39; other Elementary education or General Education programs.</li></ol>
